Have questions about using Readwise or Reader in your workflow? We'd love to be your guide! Reply to this email with your question and you might be featured in an upcoming issue. Even if your question isn’t featured, we’ll respond to every message.
❓ A Reader question from SC:
Is there a way to bump an article to the top?

Keep important items at the top with "Bump to Top"! On your computer, press ‘B’ to move any item to the top of your list — great for staying organized and focused. (Make sure your list is sorted by Date moved so the change shows.)
❓ A Readwise question from András K:
What are Cloze Deletion flashcards?

Cloze Deletion strengthens your memory by hiding key words and prompting your brain to fill in the blanks.
In the Mastery editor, pick a word or short phrase in a sentence to hide (up to five consecutive words). When you review, a blank appears, and you recall the missing text—an easy way to reinforce memory.

📰 April 26 - May 2 updates
What's new in Reader and Readwise
🚀 Improved Performance — Mitch, Tristan and Hannes upgraded our database, which means Readwise now runs faster and more reliably.
🐦 Fixed Twitter Saving — X (formerly Twitter) changed a set of endpoints over the weekend, preventing us from accessing full threads or metadata (titles, author, etc). Tristan rewrote huge chunks of our integration, and now everything should be properly saved.
🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys made improvements to how Reader handles redirects, as well as posts from yahoo.com and stackoverflow.com. Rasul improved how we handle emails from stratechery.com.
👍 Three featured finds
From quality assurance specialist Eleanor
Something to read 📖
Our resident history buff is devouring Empress of the East by Leslie Peirce—a lively portrait of the Ottoman Empire’s only queen.
Something to focus ⏲️
A simple Pomodoro timer powers Eleanor’s work sprints and doubles as the countdown for her son’s tooth‑brushing and piano practice.
Something to unwind 🫧
Eleanor can’t relax until the dishes are done, so a super‑absorbent stone drying mat speeds up cleanup and lets her unwind sooner.

No magic words, please
Can you imagine unlearning to say "thank you" at this time and age? Apparently, good manners costs OpenAI millions.

Although - this is us, not saying "thank you" after every interaction:

See you next week!
Warmly,
