❓ A Reader question from Bertrand F:
Can I change the language of the video transcript?

Yes! Follow along more easily by viewing transcripts in your preferred language. Click the globe icon at the top left (or on mobile, tap the ... menu at the bottom right) to pick the language you want. Note: some videos may only have auto-generated English captions, depending on what the creator provided.
❓ A Readwise question from Igor S:
How can I see my highlight with the full article around it?

Quickly reconnect with the full context of your highlights by jumping from the Readwise app into Reader. Tap the downward chevron on any highlight and select View original highlight to open it within its original page, letting you revisit partial notes or rediscover the flow of ideas around them.

📰 April 19-25 updates
What's new in Reader and Readwise
📁 NEW! Mobile File Uploads — You can now upload files directly from your device or apps like Google Drive using the "Add document" button in the mobile Library. Thanks Arek!
📄 Fixed PDF Crashes — Some unusual PDFs were causing the app to hang, but Arek fixed it. Reader should feel much more stable when handling tricky files.
💡 Fixed Code Blocks — Scott fixed a glitch where code blocks were showing dark text on a dark background in light mode. They should now be much easier to read.
📥 Improved Instapaper Sync — Instapaper imports should now feel more natural. Thanks to Rasul, data is fetched more evenly instead of in a batch every 30 minutes.
🖥️ Improved Document Handling — When you try to open a private document on the desktop app, you should now get a helpful message instead of a blank error, thanks to Scott.
🔐 Improved Login Process — If you try to log in with a password but your account was set up with Amazon or Apple, you'll now see a clearer message reminding you of how to access Reader. No more guessing, thanks to Piotr.
🏠 Fixed Filtered Views — Arek fixed a bug where not all filtered views appeared when customizing your home screen if there were too many options.
🔙 Fixed Android Navigation — Arek fixed an issue where Android's operating system-level "back" action wouldn't work properly after logging in to Reader. Navigation should now feel more natural.
✏️ Fixed iOS Metadata — Tapping "Edit Metadata" on iOS now works as expected, thanks to Arek.
🛜 Parsing Updates — Krzys made improvements to how Reader handles posts from seekingalpha.com, independent.co.uk, yahoo.com, and stackoverflow.com.
👍 Three featured finds
From technical writer Cayla
Something to read 📖
Cayla has always been fascinated by the anthropology of long-lost cultures, so she’s loving Fall of Civilizations by Paul Cooper—adapted from his podcast of the same name—which explores how ancient empires rose, thrived, and ultimately collapsed.
Something to focus 💼
After years of bags that were too large or too small, Cayla has finally found her Goldilocks: the Shinjuku Sling from Waterfield Designs. Along with daily necessities, it’s just the right size to fit her Boox Palma 2 for focused reading sessions on the go.
Something to unwind 🧩
Cayla’s currently absorbed in a YouTuber’s play-through of Blue Prince, a puzzle game that hides shifting rooms and cryptic secrets behind every door.

We can only assume this student scaled Mt. Fuji just to keep the Readwise streak alive. (Respect.) Lost your phone at 12,389 ft? Don’t worry—you can still recover up to 7 days of Daily Reviews once you’re back on solid Wi-Fi.

See you next week!
