💡 WiseUp! Vol. 11 — Connect to Craft, add freeform highlights, and more

This week, we're excited to announce our new integration with Craft, along with a guide from Cayla and a tutorial from Erin to help you get started. Keep reading for an exclusive discount just for Readwise users!

While our team’s focus in Italy was on experimental features we can’t share quite yet, we still kept up with parsing improvements. Read on for all the details or view our log of weekly improvements.

Before we get into the tips…

📍 Let's start with a reading recommendation

Guessing the Teacher’s Password

While assembling Wisereads, our editor Abi came across this post by AI researcher Greg McKeown. It highlights how students sometimes confuse memorizing answers with real understanding, a key lesson for anyone aspiring to be a lifelong learner. “There is an instinctive tendency to think that if a physicist says ‘light is made of waves,’ and the teacher says ‘What is light made of?’ and the student says ‘Waves!’, then the student has made a true statement. That’s only fair, right? We accept ‘waves’ as a correct answer from the physicist; wouldn’t it be unfair to reject it from the student? Surely, the answer ‘Waves!’ is either true or false, right?”

Have questions about using Readwise or Reader in your workflow? We'd love to be your guide! Reply to this email with your question and you might be featured in an upcoming issue. Even if your question isn’t featured, we’ll respond to every message.

❓ A Reader question from Jose L:

Can I find reading recommendations in Reader?

Absolutely! Reader’s discovery feature can help you uncover high-quality reads and add them directly to your library. To get started, tap the ‘+’ icon and select Discover new documents at the bottom. If you’d like recommendations sent straight to your inbox, you can also subscribe to our weekly Wisereads RSS.

❓ A Readwise question from Shaksham K:

Is there an option to manually add highlights by typing?

Yes! With Freeform Input or the CSV Import, you can manually add your highlights from anywhere—Apple Notes, physical notebooks, you name it. Pro tip: CSV uploads make future edits simple. Re-upload your spreadsheet, and we'll automatically update your notes and highlights.

💬 From the Readwise group chat

Bless you! 🐈

Are we dog people or cat people? I guess you could say we’re both. We love sharing photos of feline friends we meet when we’re traveling! Especially if they look like they’re on the verge of sneezing, like this little dude Angie met in Italy.

See you next week!

Warmly,
the Readwise customer support team
